Material Futures: Tiny Tua Tia interwoven with Indigo

$280.00

Our Material Futures collection will infuse any space with its individual artisan quality and energetic charm. Available only in limited edition. This social impact project interweaves local textile waste typically destined for landfill with the Veta Vera grass the artisans weave so eloquently in Gurunsi tradition.

For our ocean spirit collection we have included a deep rich indigo textile, crazed with batik wax - a collaboration with Accra based artist Esther Amate alongside the Veta Vera grass.. custom created just for A4D! Indigo is the colour of intuition, perception and the higher mind. Powerful and dignified, indigo conveys integrity and deep sincerity.

Through training and capacity building, co-creation and learning we seek to provide a host of new employment opportunities for our artisans; create new possibilities with waste materials; encourage collaboration as a drive to share ideas and create awareness of the textile waste problem in the Upper East Region of Ghana and the global community at large.
