FLEXIBILITY Textile Totem ~ Small, Medium, Large

from $185.00

FLEXIBILITY ~ in life, in love and while you stretch.

The Bogolan is a traditional handmade organic cotton fabric, woven in narrow strips, dyed with local herbs and painted with fermented mud from the Niger river in Mali. Every textile totem has been named by the AAAA artisans. Their ancestors taught them to make patterns holding a variety of protective and beneficial properties. They learned from their ancestors and like to pass it on with a contemporary twist.

The Bogolan (made of mud) is a traditional handmade Malian cotton fabric (finimugu) dyed and painted with herbs and fermented mud. The AAAA Bogolan is created in harmony with nature. Locally grown herbs are used to dye the mud from the Niger River to paint the patterns. Bogolan is a true slow art process, made by hands.
